I'm feeling a little bit insecure with my body right now, so while I'm working on getting fit and healthy again, most of the clothing I'm wearing is blouse-y and forgiving. This outfit — a pleated maxi skirt in mint green, a favorite color for spring — fits the bill, while also feeling pulled together and perfect for the season ahead.
Last September I ran my first half marathon. With bronchitis, nonetheless. As soon as the race was over, I promptly stopped running to give my body the chance to rest and heal.

This was over the holiday season, so not only was I not exercising, I was also eating like I was still training for a marathon and gorging on all of the holiday treats. So, after all of that, I managed to gain 20 pounds. This look is helping me look chic while I'm getting back in shape!

My chambray shirt is one of the most versatile pieces in my closet. I love that it goes with anything, can be dressed up or dressed down, and the slouchy fit is perfect for covering up a bit.
Mint green is one of my favorite colors right now and pleats are one of my favorite styles, so I'm really loving this skirt. It's a statement piece, but one that is casual and simple — the perfect combination.
I've never been much of a flats girl. I've always preferred a bit of a heel or a full wedge, but this year I think that is changing. As a mom of four, I need something that's practical AND cute.
